Connor Adams

"When last year's Gatorade Boys National Cross Country Runner of the Year and NXN Indiividual Champion Reed Connor of The Woodlands TX graduated in May, it appeared Texas was ready to move on from 'Connor' to another headlining name in the battle for boys distance supremacy. Perhaps to a Stinson, or maybe a Lutz. But as the 2009 cross country season has started to unfold, here comes another 'Connor' to lay at least partial claim to the mantle of top Texas harrier. Flower Mound TX senior Connor Adams, a 4:14 and 9:17 performer on the track last spring, has rocketed up the DyeStat Elite Individual Top 25 after a strong September which includes a 15:05.8 5k win over Marcus TX junior Craig Lutz at the Southlake Carroll Invite two weeks ago. Adams was a national champion over 1500 meters at the AAU Junior Olympics last August (3:57.67), and may still have his finest performances ahead on the track, but as the autumn deepens in the Lone Star State, he's making sure the name Connor stays front and center for another fall."

Greenwood Middle School XC

Here are some pics from the first two meets of the year.

The Steeplechase

This movie is kinda, in a way, weird but this kind of stuff happens all of the time. One runner falls on another a few times.

North Central XC No. 1

The article from, The Indystar:

"How much does being the preseason No. 1 team mean to North Central High School boys cross country coach Rick Stover?"

"I didn't realize we were No. 1," he said.

"We feel like we have one of the better teams we've had in a long, long while," Stover said. "We've only got seven or eight runners we can rely on and I'd like to get that up to 10, 11 or 12 to keep everyone healthy (because) once the tournament starts, it'll be a blood bath."

"The Panthers are led by Futsum Zeinasellassie, who was the state runner-up as a freshman last season. He was held out of the team's season-opener against Center Grove and Lawrence North to keep him fresh but North Central still pulled out the victory. He is followed by Connor Geshay, Filimon Adhanom, Matt Fox and Julian Toumey with Stover hopeful that freshmen Siemon Adhanom and Corey Turner and returning athletes Matt Luce, Jared Burris, Sam Alderfer, Mark Spence and Andy Kleschick will produce the depth he's looking for." more @ http://blogs.indystar.com/preps/archives/2009/08/north_central_b.html
